The Challenges
I G Property was started in 1989 by Ian Furby with one property, and is now one of the largest and most successful student and residential letting agents in York. They let over 650 properties each year, with 400 of them fully managed by their team of 15 property professionals.
To offer their tenants the best experience, they needed high-speed synchronous connectivity from a telecoms supplier with the capacity to manage new installs at 220+ properties. They were also keen to avoid the service issues they had with their current suppliers, where students could not pass account security.

SCG’s FTTP solution was faster and more futureproofed than any of the competition, including Virgin and BT. In addition to being competitively priced and providing the business with a dedicated point of contact, it also enabled their tenants to call and report any issues themselves, saving the team time. There were also fewer complaints from tenants about connection issues.
Another advantage was the ability to say how they wanted their billing to look. Previously, they just had to put up with whatever they were given by the supplier, and are now excited with this opportunity to free up some time within the accounts department.
